Worldlight Leads the Charge: New Industry Standard for PV Composite Frames Officially Approved
Release time:
Jan 31,2026
Recently, the "Standard for Composite Material Frames for Photovoltaic (PV) Modules" was officially approved as part of the fifth batch of "Strengthening Emerging Industry Standard Projects" for 2025. As the primary drafting unit, Jiangsu Worldlight New Materials Co., Ltd. (Worldlight), together with leaders from the Wuxi Institute of Inspection, Testing and Certification and other key organizations, held in-depth discussions on regulating industry development and the full-process implementation of the standard.
Amid intensifying competition in the current PV sector, low-price strategies by some enterprises have heightened product quality risks. The establishment of industry standards for the three major frame materials—aluminum, steel, and composite materials—will solidify a rigid technical baseline for the high-quality development of PV modules.
As a leading enterprise in the composite frame sector, Worldlight is committed to uniting entities across the entire industry chain—including industry peers, module manufacturers, downstream power station owners, and third-party testing institutions. Together, the aim is to refine the standard system and drive the industry toward healthy, benign, and sustainable development under unified regulations and strict supervision.

During the discussion, relevant leaders highlighted that the core raw materials for composite frames are fully localized with stable pricing, offering significant cost-performance advantages over traditional frame materials. To date, the product has achieved a cumulative global installed capacity exceeding 10 GW. It covers full application scenarios, including distributed systems, large-scale bases in desert, Gobi, and barren areas , offshore projects, and extreme cold environments, demonstrating vast future growth potential.
Building on this foundation, Worldlight will lead the compilation of the industry standard for composite frames while simultaneously initiating preparations for National and International Standard applications. This multi-level standard system will promote the standardization and upgrading of the industry.
Regarding the implementation roadmap, project leads have completed specific deployments: The Industry Standard Kick-off Meeting is tentatively scheduled for March 2026 at the Yinchuan PV Empirical Base. At that time, Worldlight, in conjunction with relevant units, will invite upstream and downstream enterprises in the composite frame supply chain to participate, aiming to coalesce industry synergy and accelerate the compilation and implementation of the standard.
